Amulet is now a member of the Rail Forum, a not-for-profit national industry body with members spanning across the rail sector including train operating companies and out-sourced businesses that function within the industry like us.

The Rail Forum was founded in 1993 to create a collective voice through its members that promotes the industry to global markets. Members are also invited to regular networking opportunities and can attend a range of rail-related business and charity events.

The Forum also has connections with industry groups and stakeholders across the UK, including cooperation agreements with the Railway Industry Association, the Rail Freight Group, and the Civil Engineering Contractor’s Association, allowing for better communications across the industry.

This group allows non-railway networks like Amulet to be better connected to the industry and the issues it faces. The Forum reports on industry-wide areas of focus and issues we are vigilant of, such as new safety regulations. Their recent work as custodians for Rail Safety Week introduced a Rail Safety Showcase brochure that encourages collaboration to improve safety awareness for workers and commuters alike.

As security service providers, our work constantly requires collaboration and input from rail operators. Our recent finalist nominations at the Security and Fire Excellence Awards for our work with Trenitalia c2c and the Northern Trains Network demonstrate how successful these collaborations can be. These officers target anti-social, criminal, and self-harmful behaviours across stations and on trains during people’s commutes.

Our work for Northern Trains has seen highly trained Travel Safety Officers (TSOs) protect travellers, offer welfare and support, and raise awareness of exploitation that may otherwise go unnoticed. TSOs have already shown exemplary bravery, empathy, and assertiveness in several emergencies.

Our recent nine nominations at the RailStaff Awards across four different categories, for individual acts of bravery, collaborations between teams, and everyday dedication highlight the importance of safety in the wider rail community.

We look forward to joining Rail Forum’s awareness campaigns and getting involved in future events.
