We are delighted to share that we are a finalist for the 2023 Security and Fire Excellence (SFE) Awards, in four categories:

  • Outsourced or Contract Security Team of the Year
  • Security Partnering Initiative of the Year
  • Security Project of the Year
  • Security Guarding Company of the Year– Over £30m Annual Turnover

The SFE Awards are now in their fourth year and showcase the best of the security and fire sectors’ work.

Outsourced or Contract Security Team of the Year
We have been recognised for our dedication to public safeguarding across the Northern Trains Network. Prioritising public safety by targeting anti-social, criminal, and self-harmful behaviours has been possible through the excellent training of our staff.

All Northern Trains officers receive training from multiple different schemes to ensure they are prepared for various scenarios. Travel Safe Officers are also equipped with soft skills to ensure that passengers feel safe and assured by their presence.

Security Partnering Initiative of the Year
Our work with Trenitalia c2c has recently included the successful initiative Operation Serrano. Amulet officers always prioritise crime prevention and passenger safety, and the operation has seen 35 highly trained safeguarding officers be allocated to various stations across c2c’s 26 stations.

These officers are allocated depending on historical incident data and to reassure passengers while targeting a range of criminal activity, including assault and intelligence gathering on county lines gangs.

Security Project of the Year
One of our largest and most central sites is the Zoological Society of London’s (ZSL) London Zoo. New technology and systems have been successfully introduced to mitigate security risks so that ZSL visitors can enjoy fun, safe days out at the site. The new technology has also enabled enhanced animal welfare monitoring and given scope for improved visitor experiences.

Security Guarding Company of the Year– Over £30m Annual Turnover
As an intelligence-led business, our nomination for this award highlights our fast growth in the industry and satisfaction from both longer-term and new clients. After five years of operation, our technological expertise and our client base has grown enormously. This, coupled with a 98 per cent client retention, highlights the success and growth of Amulet.

Now Amulet is part of an Employee-Owned Trust, we can ensure that our teams help guide the future of the business.

Our managing director Kieran Mackie said: “We are pleased to be a finalist in four categories this year.

“These nominations help to demonstrate how we provide impactful and valued services to a range of clients and how we prioritise our staff’s needs.”
