At Amulet, we are proudly National Security Inspectorate (NSI) Gold approved and have received our three-year certification. But what does that mean?
NSI Gold is an accreditation that recognises our expertise in the design, installation and maintenance of intruder alarm systems, CCTV surveillance systems, and access control systems.
These credentials are what establish us as a trusted provider of comprehensive services across specialist industries.
What is the National Security Inspectorate?
The NSI is the industry-leading mark of approval in security and fire safety. It assesses the UK’s security and fire safety providers to protect homeowners, businesses, the public sector, and the general public. A long-standing organisation, it has been running since 1971.
The NSI offers two levels of accreditation, Silver and Gold. The Gold standard is for companies meeting the industry’s highest technical standard and are committed to continual improvement, within the ISO 9001 Quality Management System. The Silver scheme is a stepping stone towards the Gold level and requires organisations to meet the same level of technical competence.
NSI is independently accredited by the UK Accreditation Body (UKAS), and NSI conducts assessments on over 2000 NSI approved companies every year to verify that organisations are compliant with relevant British and International Standards and industry Codes of Practice.
To put it simply, it means that we are meeting the highest standards of operating, which gives our customers peace of mind that no matter the situation, our teams will safely and appropriately respond.
Up to standard
Our NSI certification verifies that we are demonstrating compliance with critical industry standards. These are as follows:
- BS EN ISO 9001:2015+A1_2024 – Quality Management Systems
- NSI COP NCP 109 Issue 4 – Access Control Systems
- PD 6662:2017 – Intruder and Hold-up Alarm Systems
- BS 7858:2019 – Screening of Individuals
- NSI COP NCP 104 Issue 3 – Video Surveillance Systems (CCTV)
- NSI SSQS 101 – NSI Quality Schedule – Nacoss
These cover the comprehensive services Amulet offers, ensuring that we are meeting the highest standards in every aspect of our work.
Our work to get there

To reach NSI Gold, Amulet had to adjust our quality compliance for every project worked on, regardless of scale, from single-camera installations to complex systems with hundreds of components.
The 15-step process extended to every project element, from site visits and consultations, progressing through to detailed design, infrastructure development, assigning project managers, system commissioning, client handovers and ongoing maintenance.
Our work going forward
James Bagguley, technical services director and co-owner at Amulet, led the way for our accreditation.
On the topic, he said: “We are extremely proud to have NSI Gold certification. It opens up new doors to highly regulated industries, and reaching compliance is simply the right thing to do. It is fundamental to enhanced security service provisions.
“This recognition reflects our unwavering commitment to excellence and the exceptional capabilities of our risk and compliance, operational and engineering teams working together to develop comprehensive solutions at the highest industry standard.”
