Building a stronger future together through employee ownership

At Amulet, we know that great security is built on great people. Every day, our teams use their expertise and professionalism to help create safer environments for our clients. Whether they are protecting people, property or reputations, their contribution is what makes our business successful.

That’s why being part of an employee-owned business is important to us. Employee ownership creates a stronger connection between the success of our business and the people who help make that success possible. It gives colleagues a stake in the future and helps ensure their voices are heard as we continue to grow.

As a people-first business, we believe security is about more than protection. It’s about creating reassurance, building trust and enabling people to go about their day with confidence. Our colleagues are at the heart of that mission, and employee ownership reinforces the important role they play in shaping our future.

Why employee ownership matters in security

While technology continues to evolve and play an increasingly important role in keeping people and places safe, expertise, judgement and customer service remain at the heart of effective security solutions. The decisions our colleagues make every day can have a meaningful impact on the people, communities and organisations we support.

Creating an environment where people feel valued, listened to and invested in the future of the business helps us attract and retain talented individuals who share our commitment to excellence.

We recently reached an important milestone in our employee ownership journey, achieving what is referred to as ‘financial freedom’ following the repayment of the loan used to establish the Employee Ownership Trust (EOT).

For us, the significance lies not in the financial achievement itself, but in what it means for the future. It gives us an opportunity to continue strengthening our business while keeping our people firmly at the centre of everything we do.

Investing in our people

Employee ownership is about creating long-term value and ensuring success is shared. It reinforces our commitment to developing talent, creating opportunities for growth and listening to the people who know our business best, our colleagues.

Investment in people goes beyond career progression. From specialist industry training to developing life-saving skills and creating opportunities for colleagues to grow their expertise, we believe that supporting our people helps us deliver a better service to our clients.

The recent introduction of the Employee Transition Council is another example of ensuring employee voice remains central to future decision-making across our business. We believe the best ideas often come from those working closest to our clients and communities every day.

What employee ownership means to our colleagues

One of the most powerful aspects of employee ownership is the sense of connection it creates between colleagues and the business. For many of our people, the recent EOT payment served as a tangible reminder that the success of the business is shared.

Steve Aikpitanyi said:

“For me, the EOT is a positive initiative. The EOT payment was greatly appreciated, and it is reassuring to be part of an organisation where employees have a shared interest in the company’s future.”

Nana Osina described the moment simply:

“It was a boom moment for me to receive the EOT payment.”

Karan Rai added:

“I just wanted to say a big thank you for the EOT and the payment we received. I was genuinely touched by it and really appreciated it. It was a lovely gesture and made me feel really valued as part of the company. It has given me more motivation to keep doing my best. I am really happy and proud to be part of the company.”

Their feedback reflects something that sits at the heart of employee ownership, recognising the contribution colleagues make every day and ensuring they share in the success they help create.

Looking ahead

As the security sector continues to evolve, our focus remains unchanged. We will continue investing in our people, supporting professional development and building a culture where colleagues can contribute, grow and succeed.

Employee ownership is not simply a business model. It’s a reflection of how we choose to operate, putting people first, creating opportunities for colleagues to thrive and working together towards a shared future. Because when people feel ownership, they care deeply about the future they are helping to create. And when our people thrive, so do our clients, communities and the environments we work hard to protect every day.
