38hrs per week 4 on 2 off
THE ROLE:
The purpose of your role as Security and Enforcement Officer is to look after overall security of the network, starting from security checks and up to responding to security and safeguarding incidents. SEOs are key staff that will ensure the network is safe for all staff, passengers and public by employing their skills and knowledge while completing a variety of deployments on the network.
-To always act as ambassadors for Amulet.
-Provide customer care support to passengers when not completing security and safeguarding duties.
-High profile visible presence on train and at stations.
-Support on BTP policing Initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safeguarding of vulnerable people on the railway
- Reduction of Trespass and train surfing incidents
- Reduction of general anti-social behaviour
- Response to unsheltered sleeper call outs
- Reduction of unsheltered sleeping and substance use on the network
- Reduction of asset vandalism
- Customer support with travel and general queries
- Support on revenue disputes and work-related violence incidents
- Assist with Fire or First Aid incidents
- Report suspicious and criminal activity in line with intelligence gathered
- Deter and detect any type of crime on the railway
- Enforce the rules and regulations pertaining to the network, as per your delegated authority
- Engage with passengers and build community relationships.
- Safely re-set escalators on the route of deployment, as and when requested
- Assist in station evacuations during fire alarms
- Issue penalty fares where applicable for breach of byelaws
- Monitor passenger behaviour and resolving any anti-social behaviour at the allocated location/route
- Report all witnessed security incidents and issues using appropriate methods
- High-visibility security patrols at set locations

- To produce concise but detailed reports on all relevant incidents.
- To complete reports via Incident reporting procedures.
- To liaise effectively with any outside contractors/ stakeholders / emergency services to ensure minimal disruption at the train station.
- To facilitate the flow of information.
SKILLS:
- An appetite for achieving and maintaining the highest standards.
- Ability to read and write English, with a good level of spoken English.
- An ability to use Microsoft applications/software and ability to be trained on other in-house software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.

- Ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, employees, and teams at all levels.
- Must be always smart in appearance and wear the supplied uniform at the standards required.

- To carry out other related duties as required in keeping with the grade and purpose.
LICENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- You must have a current SIA Door Supervisor Licence.
- Possession of a First Aid at Work Certificate and/or Fire Marshal is desirable.
INTERVIEW REQUIREMENTS:
- Eligibility documents needed at interview: Passport or Full Birth Certificate; Utility Bill showing current address and dated within 3 months; Proof of National Insurance (Payslips cannot be used) such as NI card, P45, P60, benefits or HMRC letter.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- You must be able to provide a checkable 5-year employment and address history for vetting purposes (this can include full-time education or periods when claiming benefits).
