PAY RATE:

£13.66 per hour

THE ROLE:

To provide proactive security and safeguarding of passengers and Staff. In addition, you will be expected to undertake identification of breaches of Railway Bylaws, criminal activities, security incidents and attend/deal with incidents in line with training and standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide a high level of customer service, attending to customer questions as and when required.
  • Provide a high level of observation, identifying hazards, crimes, and security risks.
  • Patrol stations, trains as tasked on a daily basis.
  • Undertake station security searches as required.
  • Deal with security, crime, and safeguarding incidents
  • Enforce the Railway Bylaws and other relevant legislation.
  • Complete detailed incidents reports
  • Complete daily patrol logs
  • Maintain excellent communication with client and other officers.
  • Support with Security, Crime reduction and supporting revenue protection operations.
  • Crowd control duties when required.
  • Management of queues and queuing systems as required.
  • Maintain and deal with disorder in order to prevent breaches of the peace.
  • Deter and detect crime.
  • Provide first aid as and when required.
  • Provide Safeguarding of vulnerable passengers

SKILLS:

  • Strong attention to detail and observation skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities

LICENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • You must have a current SIA Door Supervisor Licence.
  • Possession of a First Aid at Work Certificate and/or Fire Marshal is desirable.

INTERVIEW REQUIREMENTS:

  • Eligibility documents needed at interview: Passport or Full Birth Certificate; Utility Bill showing current address and dated within 3 months; Proof of National Insurance (Payslips cannot be used) such as NI card, P45, P60, benefits or HMRC letter.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • You must be able to provide a checkable 5-year employment and address history for vetting purposes (this can include full-time education or periods when claiming benefits).
