Relief Security Officer

PAY RATE:

£15.16 per hour

HOURS:

Zero Hours Contract

THE ROLE:

This role requires a dedicated Security professional to join a small team to diligently deliver and oversee the undertaking of a range of duties.

The security operation provided by the teams operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It requires Security Officers of a high calibre who are adaptable, proactive and motivated to deliver the highest standard of service. We look forward to hearing from you! 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist the public and help anyone in difficulties.
• Upholding the byelaws and the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011.
• Uphold codes of practice and policies in place
• Facilitate good management of the spaces and help visitors to the Squares,
• Cover multiple areas of the site, search area, loading bay, external patrols etc.
• Manage incidents and emergencies
• Facilitate the delivery of a range of events including filming, photo shoots, rallies, demonstrations and cultural events
• Protect the fabric of the squares and prevent malicious damage to them.

SKILLS:

• Possess demonstratable experience in an enforcement role, have in-depth knowledge of ‘Incident, accident and damage’ reporting.
• You must be capable of dealing with a variety of situations and be very customer service focused.
• You must be able to communicate clearly and effectively, attaining an adept level of verbal and written English.
• Computer literate, with the ability to compose and reply effectively to multiple forms of written correspondence.
• Management of external contractors, invited associates and key client liaison.
• You must have good organisational and record-keeping skills, be well-presented at all times.
• You must be physically fit as this is a demanding role as most of your duties will take place outdoors.
• Previous experience in a security/facilities/retail environment desired.

LICENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• You must have a current SIA Door Supervisor Licence.
• SIA Public Space Surveillance (CCTV) licence (desirable)

INTERVIEW REQUIREMENTS:

• Eligibility documents needed at interview: Passport or Full Birth Certificate; Utility Bill showing current address and dated within 3 months; Proof of National Insurance (Payslips cannot be used) such as NI card, P45, P60, benefits or HMRC letter.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• You must be able to provide a check-able 5-year employment history for vetting purposes (this can include full-time education or periods in receipt of benefits).
