THE ROLE:

We have a fantastic opportunity at Amulet Security for a highly motivated and professional Front of House Security Officer to join our team at a prestigious client site in Leeds. This role combines high-level security presence with a welcoming front-of-house function, delivering both safety and an outstanding visitor experience.
You’ll play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure, and positive environment — meeting and greeting guests, monitoring the reception area, and responding proactively to incidents.

Please note: All successful candidates must be available for mandatory training before starting. Flexibility is also required to provide cover for reception breaks.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Welcome employees and visitors to the office, whilst creating a safe, secure environment.
  • Provide assistance to visitors and staff in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Monitor and Patrol premises to ensure the safety and security of visitors, employees and assets.
  • Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
  • Conduct security checks on individuals and items entering the premises.
  • Supervise and control entry and exit points of the premises to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms, and emergencies.
  • Sound alarms or call police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorised persons.
  • Control access to the site, verifying identification and ensuring unauthorized individuals do not enter restricted areas.
  • De-escalate tense situations involving visitors or staff, ensuring safety and order.
  • Operate security equipment, including surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and access control systems.
  • Conduct regular security checks, reporting any suspicious activities or potential threats.
  • Assist in managing crowd control during busy periods or special events.
  • Work closely with law enforcement and emergency response teams in case of incidents.
  • Maintain detailed records of security incidents, daily logs, and security reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, security regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Provide front-of-house coverage during the DayMaker’s lunch break or absence, maintaining the highest standards of guest engagement and reception etiquette.
  • Participate in joint handovers, regular collaboration briefings, and scenario-based exercises with the DayMaker to maintain seamless operational synergy.
  • Remain observant to subtle changes in visitor behaviour, contractor routines, or delivery patterns, and report any anomalies through the building intelligence process.
  • Support reception duties during crossover periods by confidently operating the Visitor Management System and assisting with guest check-ins.
  • Maintain a calm, approachable demeanour in both security and hospitality functions, reflecting the unified tone expected at the Bank of England’s front-of-house.
  • Contribute to feedback sessions and service reviews by offering insight from both a security and guest experience lens.
  • Act as the first point of contact and manage the reception desk for both internal and external visitors - providing a friendly and professional service to all staff and visitors.
  • Ensure all staff entering of the office have the correct ID and pass; and ensure external visitors are expected and have shown the relevant photo ID and pass.
  • Work with the team within Leeds to establish a process with security for ID checks for all visitors to ensure compliance with Bank policies.
  • Undertake regular checks of the Bank’s demise to ensure full H&S compliance; report any issues or concerns to the H&S Manager in London.
  • Act as a Fire Marshall for the Bank’s space and liaise with H&S to fully understand emergency/evacuation procedures.
  • Coordinate any post or deliveries for the Leeds Office.

SKILLS:

  • Previous experience in a security role
  • Strong observational and communicational skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle emergency situations effectively.
  • Familiarity with security systems, CCTV, and emergency procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow protocols.
  • Professional demeanor, with strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

LICENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • You must have a valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence
  • Valid CCTV License
  • First Aid at work certificate

INTERVIEW REQUIREMENTS:

  • Eligibility documents needed at interview: Passport or Full Birth Certificate; Utility Bill showing current address and dated within 3 months; Proof of National Insurance (Payslips cannot be used) such as NI card, P45, P60, benefits or HMRC letter.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • You must be able to provide a checkable 5-year employment and address history for vetting purposes (this can include full-time education or periods when claiming benefits).
