Security & Enforcement Officer

PAY RATE:

£18.50per hour

HOURS:

40hrs per week 4 on 2 off 9hrs a day a mixture of early and late shifts

16 weeks Fixed Term Contract

THE ROLE:

A key element of this work is to enforce railway bye laws on behalf of our client. You will provide a visible presence at nominated station with the aim of reducing fare evasion, and help keep the station safe for staff and passengers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • At all times challenge the following behaviours:
  • Tailgating, begging, and trespass.
  • Ticketless travel, including attempted ticketless travel.
  • Consumption of alcohol or prohibited substances on our client premises.
  • Smoking or vaping on our client premises.
  • Safeguarding, staff and passengers at location
  • Enforcing railway byelaws

SKILLS:

  • Communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Conflict resolution.
  • Customer service experience
  • Good standard of written & spoken English
  • Excellent observational skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Ability to respond calmly and efficiently in emergency situations.
  • Prior experience in security or enforcement roles is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.

LICENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • SIA door supervisor Licence required
  • Enhanced police vetting is also required

INTERVIEW REQUIREMENTS:

  • Eligibility documents needed at interview: Passport or Full Birth Certificate; Utility Bill showing current address and dated within 3 months; Proof of National Insurance (Payslips cannot be used) such as NI card, P45, P60, benefits or HMRC letter.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • You must be able to provide a checkable 5-year employment and address history for vetting purposes (this can include full-time education or periods when claiming benefits).
