THE ROLE:

To ensure the security and safety of Premises, property, staff and visitors, including the observance and adherence to fire precautions. Provide an effective and efficient high-quality security and car parking service with a strong emphasis on the quality of service provided to the client, staff, visitors and contractors within premises and car parks in accordance with SIA guidelines, Company and client specifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be responsive to service needs as they arise and to constantly seek to improve the productivity and quality of the service.
  • Have a good command of spoken and written English.
  • Serve visitors by greeting, welcoming, and directing them appropriately
  • To be the first security point of contact for staff, employees and members of the public that are accessing depot in vehicles
  • Ensuring that security measures are being enforced and adhered to. This will involve on the spot I.D. and permit checks and entry point physical checks, reporting of any security breaches, issues with access control system and processes.
  • Notify Front of House of visitor arrival. Inform visitors/contractors by answering or referring inquiries. Ensure visitors/contractors are processed in accordance with access control procedure/policy.
  • Provide a security service for the Depots in line with support from Front of House Officers – dealing with enquires from all stakeholders (staff, visitors, and members of the public and external contractors) in a smart, professional and efficient manner.
  • Direct vehicles in accordance with health & Safety and security policies.
  • Build good relationship with all staff, contractors and visitors who frequently use depots, ensuring persons needs are met by either providing answers if known, or seeking help if required.
  • Maintain security by following procedures, completing patrols, and checking parking permits.
  • Follow GDPR guidelines and have security in mind when sharing information with others.
  • Be a champion of the perimeter security within depot by ensuring all patrols are completed thoroughly and correctly and recorded in timely manner. Continuously look in-to ways to security and safety risks of the depot.
  • Be first point of call for colleagues who seek to report issues, faults or local cleaning requirements as well as security incidents by assisting with submitting reports via company systems.
  • In heightened security regime, complete random vehicle searches and other tasks as directed by client.
  • To assist in managing the Health and Safety of the depot and its stakeholders, including the safe evacuation of depot in the event of a fire alarm activation. Under guidance from the allotted Fire Safety Marshall
  • To support the Facilities team to report maintenance issues to the relevant departments via the internal systems.
  • Enhance ANPR checks by manual checks of vehicle passes and staff IDs and ensure that if vehicles have multiple passengers, all are in possession of passes or are signed-in as required by policies set by the customer.
  • Efficient distribution of parking permits both temporary and permanent.
  • Compile weekly reports in relation to vehicle access, parking permits and denied access.
  • Ensure that all relevant reports KPI’s etc are sent through to the security manager/ client in a timely manner.
  • Keep a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Support continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Ensuring that any required check sheets are compiled and submitted within the given time frame.
  • To be in possession of the Security Industry Association (SIA) Badge and to ensure it is renewed when necessary.
  • Ensure confidentiality, privacy and dignity is always maintained in accordance with the Data Protection Act and in line with Company and customer policy, where appropriate.
  • Conduct yourself in a professional manner whilst on Trust and Company premises. To operate in situations of a highly emotive and sensitive nature. To remain calm and in control and to possess a strong sense of Customer Service.
  • Assist Front of House officer with their duties in busy period and during breaks.
  • Be prepared to drive shuttle as and when requested by staff at any time of the day.
  • Ensure all necessary reports are filled in
  • Ensure all proof-of-presence tags are checked/scanned when completing patrols.
  • Ensure any issues with any of the equipment are reported immediately
  • Complete random ID and parking permit checks of staff seen in depot and report any security breaches.
  • Visually patrol berthing roads from safe distance and report any unusual behaviour.
  • Ensure smoking policy is adhered to in the depots.
  • Complete checks of contractor paperwork if they are seen working in the depot buildings (check they have been signed in, are in possession of H&S badge and have their risk assessments)
  • During quieter times complete additional randomised patrols
  • Ensure no unauthorised access is gained to depot at all times.
  • Assist in cordoning off parking spaces during projects and events, or covering emergency gates.

LICENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • You must have a current SIA Door Supervisor Licence.
  • Possession of a First Aid at Work Certificate and/or Fire Marshal is desirable.
  • Full UK Drivers Licence required.

INTERVIEW REQUIREMENTS:

  • Eligibility documents needed at interview: Passport or Full Birth Certificate; Utility Bill showing current address and dated within 3 months; Proof of National Insurance (Payslips cannot be used) such as NI card, P45, P60, benefits or HMRC letter.
